Meet Beth Venable | Professional Team of Organizers

We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Venable and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beth, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
Most people believe that you should use every inch of a space, and I believe the opposite. Of course, it’s important to maximize space and make an area functional. Unfortunately, you can easily clutter an area when you try to use up every bit of space that’s there. With that being said, I intentionally organize by leaving open space if possible. I like to be able to see what is in a cabinet or drawer, and I love being able to move the clothes in my closet to the left and right with ease. When your home becomes crammed, it’s time to declutter or relocate items.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own Side By Side Design Texas, a luxury professional organization company in Houston and the surrounding areas. My team is amazing, and we love our clients and work. Our goal is to help each client by customizing our systems to their specific needs. We offer a variety of services including decluttering sessions, organizing sessions, virtual training sessions, DIY sessions, holiday decorating services, maintenance sessions, moving prep, and packing and unpacking services. In addition to working in homes, we also work in businesses such as schools, restaurants, and nail salons.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In addition to running Side By Side Design Texas, I also own and run a Facebook group called Helping Houston Moms. My group shares information with moms and families all over the city. As a result, anyone visiting me in the Houston area will have a plethora of ideas and options to keep very busy during their visit. I believe that you cannot do it all, but visitors should definitely visit the Space Center, eat a variety of tasty food, swing by the museum district, and try to attend a ball game. One thing that surprises most people is how “outdoorsy” Houston is with all of the parks, trails, bayous, etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am so thankful to my husband, Matt, who is so incredibly supportive of my business journey. My husband is my sounding board and offers great business advice. He also encourages me to make decisions as I see fit. Matt recently told me, “I think that you should do what feels right as all of your decisions thus far have proven to be successful.” Being a business owner is so much work, and I am so grateful to have the love and support at home as I embark on this professional journey.
