We had the good fortune of connecting with Bk Moss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bk, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’ve been wearing sunglasses since I was in high school & no matter the occasion I always wore a pair of shades. When I got to college and start going out I was known as the girl who wore sunglasses in the club, my personal fashion statement . Over time girls would compliment me on the shades I wore and I’d sell them right off my face or would pull out a pair from my purse to sell. Then is when I knew I needed my own sunglasses business.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Having the freedom to make money and still enjoy my life is what has motivated me to get into the career fields or business ventures I step into. Selling sunglasses and doing teeth whitenings aren’t that easy because of how hard it is to build/ reach clientele.I learned that promoting your self consistently and with determination will get more people involved with your businesses. Knowing the passion you have for the things that are yours will motivate others to want to be involved and support you.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot to go for happy hour is Moxies , they have a nice tender steak and make one of the best dirty martini’s( with Grey Goose). Houston is so big that there’s no one specific place that I would visit because they’re so many but I love a good arcade or bowling alley. I’m really a home body but if I wanted to get out for the night I’d go over to the post oak area, loch bar has great drinks and IPIC is one of the best theaters.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family for starters but most importantly my little sister owner of Lorainlash located in Nashville. She always push me to go hard for my business and helps me with the creativity side of things. Her determination and dedication allow me to appreciate being an entrepreneur
