We had the good fortune of connecting with Blair Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Blair, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The more I tell others my goals it’ll help me stay on track with them. I also benefit from writing things that I want to do on my calendar.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I graduated from University of Houston with a Business Management degree in 2013. Since then, I’ve worked as an event planner and in the facility management side at large companies. There were always pros and cons with each job I’ve had and I’ve never been 100% satisfied where I was at. That’s why I always try to stay busy outside of work with my passions to get the self fulfillment I lack in my career. I’ve coordinated a few weddings on the side and even started a jell-o shot business. (crazy I know lol) Those ventures were both super exciting and my friends and family gave me positive feedback. Once I moved to San Antonio I stopped the jell-o shot business and I have no regrets, If anyone needs assistance with a wedding, I don’t mind lending a helping hand, but it’s not something that I want to pour my heart and soul into or start a business with. My feet have felt the most grounded being a content creator on Instagram. I don’t have to rely on anyone else’s schedule and I can put my creativity into making food recipes for others to try. I’ve discovered that what brings me joy is being able to help others. With Instagram that allows me to connect with people through food, mom life hacks, and simple things I experience throughout my journey. The Life of Mama Blair is simply that. A window into my home, my family, and my heart.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve lived in San Antonio, TX for about three years now and this city is slowly growing on me. I haven’t tried as many restaurants as I would like but the few I have were absolutely delicious. A weekend with me would entail, having brunch at Nola to get some delicious New Orleans inspired food, visiting The Pearl to enjoy cocktails and let the kids play in the splash pad. There’s a small cute hotel near my house that has a nice bar with great views of the San Antonio hillside. I would end the night with a visit to a bar called Paramour with stylish furniture and a set-up perfect for a girls night out.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to Courtney Brand! I joined her mentorship group in September and she’s provided me with many golden nuggets to help me thrive in the social media world.
