We had the good fortune of connecting with Bobby Enloe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bobby, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Enjoying what I do every day.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
If you get the work done, the success and money will come. I’ve had the goal of owning my own cattle ranch since I was little.
I started shining shoes in the local barber shop when I was in the 4th grade because I wanted a horse. My parents could not afford to buy one. I earned enough to buy a horse, pay for the feed and the pasture rent. As I got older I worked before and after school and weekends at other jobs. I bought a car and paid all my school expenses. I’ve had several different occupations (including butcher &millwright, ranch foreman, and construction) that helped prepare me for what I now do.
I now live on a ranch in Montgomery and own a ranch near the coast. We started a beef company last year and sell our own ranch raised beef that’s free of antibiotics and hormones. It’s called Enloe Farms and Cattle Company. I’ve owned a small construction company since 1998 – Enloe Enterprises in Montgomery. My first big project was to build Blaketree National Golf Club.
My hobby is my music. Bobby Enloe Texas Music. We play classic country (like Hank & Merle) and Western swing dance tunes.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, I would take them on a ranch tour. Everyone loves seeing the cows and horses. They would also probably enjoy seeing working dogs in action. Then, we could go to the ranch on the coast for a fishing trip. We have a pier to fish from and we have a boat to fish the bays. We could go by boat over to Bolivar and have some great seafood and listen to some live music at Stingaree. It’s one of my favorite venues for my band – great food and great people!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
