We had the good fortune of connecting with BranDee Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi BranDee, how does your business help the community?
My business helps the community by donating wigs to people who suffer from hair lost due to underlying conditions such as Trichotillomania. Facebook has helped me get in contact with these people, and it makes me happy to help boost others confidence.

What should our readers know about your business?
Unique Beauty is a beauty business that specializes in wig construction, wig installation, and makeup application. I am most excited about being able to use my talents to help people that are less fortunate by donating wigs. I simply got where I am today by never giving up on myself and always doing something to perfect my craft. Entrepreneurship is never easy especially when it comes to having capital for your business. Knowing where to invest in your business helps you stay on track to see a return on your investment. The biggest lesson entrepreneurship has thought me is independence because the people you expect to support you don’t. Unique Beauty will be at the top of the beauty industry because we help others prosper by boosting confidence.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am from New Orleans so I would start at my grandma’s house because that’s where you can get some of the best authentic soul food. After eating an amazing meal I would take my friend to where it all started C.J. Peete public housing development to show where my life started. Then I would take my friend to the different shops on magazine street to do some fun shopping. We would end the tour in the French Quarter because that is where I would love for the Unique Beauty first store front to be located.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout out to the “Social Proof” podcast. David Shands uses his plat form to bring exposure to million dollar businesses ran by people of color. This podcast helps push myself more and more because I am able to see people who look like me change their lives and also their family’s lives through entrepreneurship.
