We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandi Tinoco and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandi, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My dad always told me when I was younger to always strive to be my own boss, but at the time I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do. As I got older I realized I love helping people, planning things, and making people happy. It wasn’t until I was helping my cousin, Aliyah plan her quinceañera that I realized there are so many people who don’t like to plan anything. There people who would rather pay someone to do everything for them and all they have to do is show up to the event. That is when the light bulb went off and I decided to start my own event planning business! Now I am my own boss and proud owner of Bee Delighted Events.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I know there are SO many other amazing event planners out there who probably have more experience then me and who are maybe even better then me too, but I will never stop trying to be better. Give me a theme that may seem impossible to do and I will do my very best to make it possible.
I am definitely not where I want to be business-wise but I am definitely going to get there. The hardest part is getting myself out there and getting recognized for what I do. It’s still a challenge at times, but I’m not letting it hold me back. I am still holding on to my dreams and my promises.
I’ve learned along the way that no matter how hard you try you cannot make everyone happy. It’s so heartbreaking for me when someone isn’t happy with whatever I have to offer, but I’m learning to accept that maybe it’s just for the best to just let it go.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow this is a hard one for me… I am a foodie so I love to eat 😂😂 and living in Houston I just feel like there is so much to do it’s so overwhelming that you don’t know what to do!
To eat it’s so hard to pick but I’ll give you a few of my favorites… Vida Marisco is one of the tops especially on the weekends because they have live music and their food is good! My favorite is their oysters.
Micos Chicken is another good one! Their sammiches are bomb!
Waffle bus is good too.
A new favorite place is Tikila’s that a cool hangout stop they have a few food trucks with some good food and the set up they have is really nice!
One place to go hangout and have some fun is Kemah Boardwalk just because there is something there for all age groups.
Vintage park, Woodlands mall area, and the Galleria are places I’d probably take visitors too as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all I would not be where & who I am today if it wasn’t for God’s mercy and grace! So a huge shout out to Him for getting me this far!
Second shoutout would be to my parents… the raised me to be humble, kind, giving, and selfless. My parents have had my back every step of the way.
Third would be my sisters, Hillari and Mari they encourage me to keep pushing forward because I know that they are watching their big sister hustle thru life.
My Tio Brian and Tia Leyla are more then just uncles to me. They have encouraged me, supported me, loved me, and mentored me from the start of my business. They have showed me what’s the most important thing about running a business thru the way they run Crossway Mechanical AC & Heating.
Last but definitely not least a HUGE shoutout to my amazing husband, Cesar and my two sons. They have been my WHY. They are the reason why I wake up everyday wanting to do what I do best. My husband has picked me up when I felt like I wasn’t going anywhere, when I felt like giving up he encouraged me to keep pushing on. I love you baby!
