We had the good fortune of connecting with BrandonKaybee Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi BrandonKaybee, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was basic to be honest with you. People who work for other people will always make someone else rich. This old idea that has become out dated has made its ugly head rear its self up in this Covid-19 crisis. Covid-19 has forced us to take a look at and revaluate all old ways of thinking and being. To continue to think a corporation or a government will take care of you is no longer the way be. Most of the money that was given out went to business . This let me see and know that owing a business is more valuable to this country than anything. To not have a business or some type of side hustle is not the way to play this game. In order to win in this country you need multiply streams of income not one.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have more than one business so I will specifically talk about my Turo Business. What sets my Turo business apart from others is my Airport delivery system which I call the Pull-up. In a nutshell we deliver the rental car to your terminal in which you land into. This gives the customer and great experience in knowing as soon as they walk out the airport the rental car is waiting for them to hop into and go about having a great experience in Houston. When it is time for the customer to drop the car off. This two is at the airline terminal you fly out off. This process makes it easy and convenient for you to catch your flight. This is what makes renting cars from Turo better than your traditional rental car company. Once again Covid-19 forced the way we do business and consume products and services differently. I started this business in 2019 at the end of the year. So few months later Covid came in and almost coast me everything. For a few months I took big L’s. I had to either figure it out or figure it out. It took me some time and I figured out where a lot of bookings where coming from the airports so I reconstructed my business model around the airport and the times people mostly travel at. I also took advantage of the fact most companies where not renting cars out at the time. I feel the most important thing about the brand is KEEPMOVINGFORWARD

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a kind of hard question due to Covid-19. Saftey being a top issues makes this answer hard to answer. First of I would have to let them know that although Governer Abbott has lifted the mask mandate and pretty much opened the state of Texas back up that we have to move on the side of caution. So places I would normally recommend probably wouldnt be safe such as The Rodeo, going to the Toyota Center, Nrg, Houston Museum District and the space center. So I would stick to outside places such as the famous Water wall, discovery Green, Bayou bend Collection and Gardens, Houston Graffiti building, Houston Arboretum & Nature Center, the Houston Zoo, and Galveston. Also would take them to the Woodlands, Sugarland, Pearland, Katy, Memorial and Cypress area. As far as restaurants we have so many seeing how Houston is ranked high when it comes to food. Definitely would take them to the heights where you have some of the best restaurants etc in the city. Tourchys taco, hoppdoddy, Snooze A.m. Burger Joint, Superica, Teotihucan, Dream wings, Rainbow lounge. We would have to go to some of the staples of the city like Frenchys, Pappaadeaux, Pappasitos, Ninfa’s, shipleys, Breakfast club, Turkey leg hut, Burns barbque, and Whataburger.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give all the credit to God. I’ve had no one really to show me how to do anything but God, Youtube and myself. Yes Youtube has probably helped me the most probably because you can often see videos on whatever you are trying to learn .
