We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Banks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was that I no longer wanted to punch a clock, nor work hard to make someone else’s dream come true when I could do it for myself. Don’t get me wrong. I believe that if you help someone achieve their dream, then God would surely do the same for you. It’s just that God has blessed with with many gifts and talents including creativity. I thought to myself, my season had come to an end for working for others. It was time that I branch out, take risk and do my own thing. I understand that becoming an entrepreneur is not for everyone. But I enjoy stepping out on faith and looking to see just what God will make of it. The first business that I started was Khain of Talents. This second business is Kloset of Tingz.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Kloset of Tingz is a women’s clothing boutique located in Spring, Texas. I know that there are many clothing boutiques out here in the world, however, I wanted to be a positive influence on young women between the ages of 22 to 34 who are dealing with negative self body images. I want them to realize that you don’t have to have the perfect body image to feel confident in who you are, especially when it comes to the clothes you wear. God uniquely created each of us. We all have flaws. However, with clothing you can focus on and accentuate the best qualities you have. You just have to be confident to know that. As a person who loves fashion, I have never let my body type or size deter me from the clothes that I like. Style and fashion takes creativity and you can easily create and make your own. I am most proud of the accomplishments that I have had over the past three years expanding my brand and experience as an entrepreneur. To see my ideas come to life has brought me nothing but joy. I am just so grateful for what God is doing. As we know, everyone may not have the ability to be successful as a business owners. However, you won’t know unless you try. And no it is not easy. You can’t do it alone. You must have a support system (a TEAM). You have to do your research and Plan! Plan! Plan!. Everyday is not easy day. There are highs and lows. You just have to be patient because success does not happen over night. I have learned that you can easily become overwhelmed mentally, physically, emotionally and financially. Take time out to develop strategies that will help you accomplish every goal that you set for yourself and your business. I guess what I want the world to know is that in life God grant us opportunities to pursue our goals and dreams. It is necessary for us to step out on faith and trust Him. When God gave me Kloset of Tingz, I knew it was an opportunity to share with the world my inspiration and ideas about fashion. I am a wife and mom who just took a risk and created businesses that would be helpful to those in need of the services I provide. I am a product of what I do. I used the gifts and talents granted to me and along with believing in myself to do what I do. You can do the same.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Because I am a native of New Orleans, I would take them to places that reminds me of home. New Orleanians, love good food, daiquiris, music and partying. So I would go eat at the Breakfast Klub and Mike’s Seafood. For drink, I would bring the person to Bourbon Street Daiquiris since New Orleans is known for there Hurricane daiquiris. I would also bring them to Downtown Houston maybe the Aquarium because we can eat there as well. I personally just like the atmosphere. As for places to visit, I would take the person to site see many of the Historic sites and Museums here in Houston. I don’t hang out in many places since the pandemic, however, I would take them to Discovery Green and a nice spacious club..

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to credit my team who has supported me in every endeavor that I have ever pursued: My husband, children, parents, and of course my clients/customers. My family has truly been there for me. No matter what idea I throw their way, they are right there helping me bring it to past. They keep me encouraged at every step along the way. Whatever I need them to do, they do. I thank my clients/customers because they have continuously supported me and my businesses.
