We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have been traveling for as far back as I can remember. Once I began international travel, I knew that world travel would become something I enjoy. I’ve traveled and lived around the world all while planning trips for myself, my friends, and my family. It was actually when I, likely by accident, learned how much my travel agent earned from booking my destination wedding guests. When I saw the amount it made me kick myself in the butt and ask myself, “Why aren’t YOU working AND earning to make memories for others?!” I had considered it in the past, but it was that specific situation that put me in drive and the rest was history. Here I am with World Class Travel by Brianna and I couldn’t be more happy with my decision.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I like to call myself THE “Jack of all Trades.” I’m certainly a risk taker and I love to “take the leap” knowing that I’ll always survive the jump (God’s got me!). Full time, I am a Professional School Counselor. I LOVE my kiddos and I love what I do as service, support, and education will always be my passion. When you’re someone like me, I find it important to capitalize on all of your strengths and maximize your efforts through your work choice(s). If you can find a job that encompasses multiple joys…go for it! With that said, I chose to tie my passion for school counseling with my love for travel by taking my first school counseling position in the Middle East (Kuwait). I lived there for 2 years while working as a K-6 Counselor and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. While there, not only was I able to work, but I was also able to continent hop and visit countries across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Since repatriating, a position found me at an international charter school located in Houston, TX where I currently work as the K-2/Lead School Counselor. I am also a Sergeant in the Army Reserve. I have been active for approximately 13 years now, and I’m open for another 13 more! I will be commissioning as an officer within the next year so…wish me luck! And of course, I have my travel agency! My most recent leap and probably the most rewarding so far. To have something that you have the ability to build and mold into your own is an AMAZING feeling. I am doing all of the things that I love and learning something new every day. If I can give one word of advice, it will always be, “TAKE THE LEAP!”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, since moving to Houston and settling down, I haven’t been out much! During the week I am usually at home (I live in Pearland) relaxing and/or working on keeping my clients booked and busy! For weekday bites, I would probably visit Kona Grill, Rouxpour, or King Krabz (Deerpark)….or just cook at home with a good bottle of wine 🙂 I do LOVE a good Sunday Funday and may find myself at Taste Bar+Kitchen or The Address as they both have the best shrimp & grits that I’ve had so far! I also thoroughly enjoy good music, good vibes, and good people so anywhere that has all of those things is where my friends and I would be. Instagram and/or Eventbrite would be my go-tos to find out what’s going on around the city! LOL

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my tribe! It really does take a village to grow and flourish through life and my friends and family have been nothing but supportive. It’s unfortunate that most entrepreneurs find that family and friends are some of the LAST people to support their business. For me it has been the opposite and most of my business has come from family, friends, and referrals. You all are loved and appreciated just as much if not more than you love and appreciate me. Shout out to you all! Thank you <3
