We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Kelley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brianna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my ability to remain authentic. Being Authentic has created a lane for me as a brand owner that is like no one else. My skill and technique is self taught. I wanted to embark on my journey teaching myself everything there is to know about makeup from skin prep, skin tones, shades, etc. Doing this i was able to come up with my own technique. My artistry has a very natural feel to it that attracts continuous clientele.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I always say my ambition is what sets me apart from most. I am a big dreamer and an even bigger achiever. If I say I’m going to do something I am going to do everything in my power to achieve my goals. I would say getting where I am in my business today was not easy. I started with a eyebrow pencil and a dream lol. It took a lot of patience and faith. I had to make people believe in my dream just as much as I did to even begin taking clients. I can say along the way I have learned that you must be willing to learn from others as well. Be open to criticism because not all things are perfect. The world needs to know this is only the beginning for me. I want them to remember the name Brianna Kelley because it wont be long before it is a household name.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Bestie is in town first stop is the Libation Station to crab a cute daquiri to kick off her visit. She loves movies so we would definitely check out one of my favorite spots Movie House & Eatery. Nightlife i would take her to The Domain to bar hop. First would be Wonder Bar. For day activity we would visit downtown Austin and check out all the amazing murals she is big in to art so i could never go wrong with that. Followed by a picnic on Lady Bird Lake over wine and great conversation our favorite.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my mentor & friend Yves Washington brand owner of Reine Monet. Yves has pushed me everyday to be better than I was yesterday. I never realized how much more I wanted to pursue outside of just being a professional makeup artist. As my mentor she has opened my eyes and pushed me to start working on some other amazing things to add to my beauty resume, Thank you will never be enough to such and amazing soul.
