We had the good fortune of connecting with Brit & Vic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brit & Vic, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We love shaved ice! Even more than that, ever since we were young, we both had dreamed of having our own shaved ice trailer. Something about the small town feel of getting a shaved ice with your family on a warm Summer evening just made us both so nostalgic. Plus, an old school snow cone trailer was something missing from our own community that we knew could be really successful. It was over wine one night that we discovered we shared this unique dream, right down to the location we had been eyeing! It felt meant to be so we immediately got started planning and brainstorming. Both of us also have a deep desire to teach our children about entrepreneurship at a young age, about following your dreams and how you can do both while having fun! We also knew that Sugar Land was a special and unique community that we believed would embrace our idea because at the end of the day, we want to create a place that makes people happy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We had a clear vision of what we wanted our business to look like. We wanted to created a cute, fun and safe place for families in our community to gather and treat themselves to quality shaved ice. We are most proud of ourselves for taking the leap because while it was scary at first to financially and personally commit to something we had no experience in, we knew that if we combined our strengths, we could learn from each other and overcome obstacles that we were sure to face. We have learned that sometimes you have to roll with the punches, hard work pays off and anyone can make their dreams come true of they stop thinking what if and if they just do it!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Picking a favorite place to eat in the city is hard! But if we had to chose, we would definitely start by showing our friends some of our Sugar Land favorites. Vino & Vinyl in Sugar Land Town Center is one of our favorite places to start a day and grab drinks and hang out. After that, we would probably go to Brandini’s Restaurant and Wine bar for dinner, another favorite. After that, there is usually a good karaoke night or DJ playing at Baker Street Pub to end the night. During the day, there are some great museums to check out in Houston like the Museum of Natural Science and of course, you can’t leave Houston without checking out NASA. If it was baseball season, we would definitely take our friends to an Astros game at Minute Maid Park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would love to dedicate this series to our amazing social network and community. Our vision could have never been so successful had it not been for the support, efforts and talents of our family and friends who have been our biggest cheerleaders since day one!
