We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was simple. I wasn’t happy. I was miserable, going to work everyday for someone else. It was draining. I wanted to have the freedom to do whatever I wanted to do when I wanted to. So I set out to do just that. I would work 8 hours a day for myself instead of making someone else dreams come true. It actually started out as me wanting to be a lash tech but I realized I wanted to work smarter not harder and changed it to selling mink lashes and wanted to expand on that by selling tools and accessories as well.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner of Nora Bee Lashes LLC. Its a mink eyelash brand that caters to affordable luxury. I sell high quality eyelashes at an affordable price so everyone can enjoy my products. We have everything you need to apply your lashes that makes lashing a breeze! From lash glue to mini mirrors to lash on the go. What sets us apart from other lash companies is simply quality. I take my time and choose the best lashes and products for my company. If I wouldn’t use it then I wouldn’t sell it to you. I want them to feel like luxury when they open up their lash box and use my products. I want them to be their own kind of beautiful. Rather their thing is natural lashes or dramatic lashes. Our products are going to make you feel beautiful period! My ultimate goal is to be a household beauty brand. It doesn’t stop at mink lashes. It just starts there. I would be lying if I said it was all glitz and glam because that’s far from the truth! I struggle everyday not to give up! It’s definitely not easy when you’re starting a business from the ground up and you may not get a sale for days, weeks or even months. It’s not easy it’s hard. I got to where I am now by staying motivated and encouraged because I know I have a goal to reach and that keeps me going. You have to play a lot of different roles when you start a business. I market, I take my own pictures, I created my own website. I’m a graphic designer. I do it all. I’m not where I want to be but the most exciting part for me is seeing all my visions come to life. I have a lot in store for Nora Bee Lashes and I can’t wait to see it through. I’m just getting started. On top of running a business I’m also a YouTuber. So make sure y’all subscribe lol

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I really don’t get out much. But when I do I like to catch a vibe by going out to eat and having a few drinks. I would recommend Avenue American Bistro in Wayne they have some great food. I love Sedona Tap House in Livonia and I recently went to House of Pure Vin in downtown Detroit and it was so much fun.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God! Without him none of this would be possible. Also my family and friends for always supporting me, encouraging me and telling me how proud of me they are. Especially my kids and my man. If it’s one thing my daughter is going to do is promote Nora Bee Lashes!
