Meet Brittni Castilaw | Owner & Founder of Backstage Digital

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittni Castilaw and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittni, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
As an entrepreneur, there are so many aspects of your business that you juggle. I have integrated several processes in our day-to-day operations that our businesses’ success is built on.
1. Focus on Revenue Generating Activities – As the owner, you can easily find yourself wasting time on tasks that don’t directly drive revenue. Creating a process to manage these tasks is important to build efficiencies in your day-to-day, while also freeing up your time to focus on what really matters.
2. Feed The Fire – As a business owner, I have always considered my business a fire. Fires die unless you ‘feed’ them. Making a habit of feeding your fire through marketing, staff development, customer satisfaction and more, creates the framework for a thriving business.
3. Goal Setting – Focusing on your short-term and long-term goals helps you pinpoint the exact steps you need to take to reach those. Revisiting your goals monthly (if not weekly) keeps your objectives at the forefront of your efforts.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Backstage Digital is a full service digital marketing agency based in The Woodlands, TX. We have been working with clients across the US for over 6 years to build digital marketing campaigns that generate actual results.
Our agency is different on our approach to our client’s brand. We believe in transparency and offer a 24/7 client dashboard to show results AND a work diary of their campaigns. We also have stringent internal processes and procedures executed at every level of the campaigns we build to ensure we produce the highest level of content for our clients.
One of the things I am most proud of is our team. They work extremely hard to provide the highest level of service for our clients.
When I launched Backstage Digital in 2017, I built it very differently. I capped the business for 4 years and took a certain amount of clients for several reasons. This allowed us to focus on our processes, technology, build capacity and then move into scaling our business. For the first 4 years of our business, we always had a waitlist of clients wanting to work with our team. As we have spent the last 2+ years scaling our business, we have seen the benefits of building Backstage Digital the way that we did.
As a business owner, there are always challenges. We can’t be afraid of failure or taking a risk. Many challenges are brought upon us and outside of our control. We must be nimble and agile to pivot as needed.
Backstage Digital works as an extension of our client’s business. We don’t just launch digital marketing campaigns, we want to get a full grasp of the business objectives over the next 1-5 years. At that point, we build campaigns to meet those objectives.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many fun places to go in the area. I would include some of the following in our trip:
The Cynthia Wood Mitchell Pavilion
Market Street
Old Town Spring
Museum District
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
