We had the good fortune of connecting with Byron Davenport and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Byron, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It all started from the host of “The Werito Show” he first made a promise to his mother that had multiple sclerosis. He made a promise to her that he would be a chef and show her love all around the world. This promise blossomed into an International Showcase Network. From being born in Woodville Texas to living in Mexico as a child and being an American War Veteran, and going to chef school in Peru, he saw that many small businesses needed more exposure and a cheaper way to spread the word about their business. So, he started his chef show in Lima Peru, on TigoTV, to start building the foundation for his network, and then when Covid hit, he had to come back to America a lot sooner than thought. But, without giving up or slowing down, he was able to continue filming at so many small businesses and restaurants in Texas, that the show has more presence in order to continue to help those in need of marketing assistance. From this point, we have been able to give hope and love to a sad world.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business showcases small restaurants and businesses around the world. We celebrate their love for the world through our international showcase network WISN. Our show is a show that only shows kindness and compassion to others and will continue this until we’re unable to exist.
What we have learned is that with persistence and a lot of hard work, but mainly with love, positivity will grow. The more we give, the more we are blessed with so much more love.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, we would find out their interests, Houston has so many different sites, like the Houston Zoo, and the Aquarium downtown. If they are looking for upscale then Westheimer and more a country view go to Old Town Spring, Texas or Tomball Texas, it all depends on what they desire.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The show is dedicated to the host’s mother: Karen Wood, who had multiple sclerosis and was either in a wheelchair or bedridden. This is her chance through the host.
