We had the good fortune of connecting with Carla Litzsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carla, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is my Fatih. I’m so resilient and I do my best to not allow things to get me down. I don’t worry about things that are outside of my control, I focus on the things that are, and that is why I succeed. My faith is my foundation and it keeps my grounded.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is a thriving mental health private practice, Purpose Restored Counseling. What sets me apart from others is that my clients appreciate how I meet them where they are. I am honest and straightforward. I hold them accountable to change. I had an amazing mentor that helped me start my practice and for the last five years, I’ve been able to keep it going.
As with anything, there are challenges. The challenge for me was that I went to school to be a therapist, they didn’t teach us how to run a business. I’ve had to learn over the years how to do all things business and if I must say, I’m still learning.
If I had to share one thing about my brand is that I’ve lived it. My purpose was restored and my passion is helping others find or restore their purpose.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Whew, this question is funny, because I’m still exploring the city myself. Although I’ve lived here for six years now. I haven’t experienced all that Houston has to offer. I will say that I enjoy eating out, catching a good movie, and you most certainly can find me at church on Sunday mornings.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God gets all of the credit in recognition of my story. I would not be where I am if it wasn’t for my faith and foundation in Him. My three beautiful daughters who’ve journeyed with me along the way deserve a shoutout because they know that although things weren’t always easy, my hard work, dedication and sacrifice is what got us to where we are today. Lastly, I have a supportive family and small circle of friends who love and encourage me to keep going.
