Meet Carlotta Trubia | Horseback riding instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlotta Trubia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carlotta, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Horseback riding is a great form of therapy and has helped myself, and so many others, through personal struggles, physical or mental issues, loss or heartache, and so much more. I truly believe God created these beautiful animals to help serve us, heal us and teach us valuable lessons. Horses are incredibly intuitive to our thoughts, feelings, or physical demeanor and simply try their best to respond accordingly. They can amazingly sync their heart rate with each other! I believe horses were created with compassion and desire meaningful relationships with each other and humans alike. This connection can lead to a plethora of benefits for both horse and rider. It is our responsibility to learn more about them, treat them well and communicate effectively. The horses in my program have helped many individuals in the community improve their personal life, heal and process pain or loss, enhance social and emotional skills, etc.!

What should our readers know about your business?
When I was growing up, I always felt there was a need for better horsemanship in the horse industry as a whole. From the vet clinic to the show ring, my heart desired to teach others to have more compassion, education, and proper ethics to ensure the happiness and care for the horses came first. Not everyone is willing to put in the time and effort needed to properly train a horse that will last, rather, so many want a quick fix to a blue ribbon. This is not my style! My dedication has shown successful over the past few decades and I’m proud to be recognized by fellow trainers, riding students, farriers and veterinarians as someone who exemplifies true horsemanship.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I consider myself a country girl who also loves the city. One of my favorite aspects of living in the Houston area is the option to enjoy both! I would take my friend on a trail ride through the Sam Houston National forest, enjoy lunch at The Frio Hill Country Grill in Cypress, and dress up for an exquisite dining experience in the Galleria area. Our weekend would conclude with attending Sunday service at Community of Faith, my wonderful church home in Hockley.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m so grateful for the support of my husband, my kids and the incredible people and horses I’ve had the pleasure of teaching and helping over the years. But, most of all, my shoutout goes to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Without my Faith, I would not be where I am today! He created me with this talent for a reason. My riding program truly is a ministry and I pray for every student to become closer to God during their time at the barn. I’m grateful to pursue His purpose for my life and help others along the way!
