We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassie Haire and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The home organization category is rapidly expanding. While I had the privilege of working as a designer with The Container Store, and working with another home organization company, I knew it was time to branch out on my own. Someones home is such a sacred space, and we want every person to love their home. Blending someones personal style, with organization, and finishing it off with high end customer service is our service model. We want every person to feel special, and taken care of… regardless of their budget.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, Simply Serene Home, is backed with years of personal passions, business management, and mostly a desire to make customers happy. My career has gone from managing restaurants, to designing for The Container Store, to working for a small home organization company, to taking the leap to start my own company. Each leg of my career has taught me so much about myself, my personal goals, what I want for my family… and nothing was easy. Building a restaurant company is not easy. Walking away from it is not easy. Starting something new is not easy. However, with each step there is growth and knowledge. While I know that each season brings new challenges, I am grateful for the new lessons that come with them.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The best part about Houston are the museums, and the restaurants. You can start the day with anyone of the amazing locally owned brunch spots, like French Riviera Cafe or Commonbond. Then head to one of the amazing museums, preferably the Art Museum. Then finish the afternoon in Rice Village, get some fun window shopping done- or real shopping, and then eat dinner at Shake Shack and eat too many cheese fries. Houston is great because there are parks, tons of events, and fun pockets around the city that are always changing. I dont know if you could ever really get bored here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I had to think of a single person who had the biggest impact on my career, it would be a district manager I had years ago. I was very young, and immature in business and honestly had no idea of what I was doing. He saw something in me, that I never saw in myself. He had the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop me to being more business minded. He made me look at business differently, and gave me a passion for success.
