We had the good fortune of connecting with Charles Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Charles, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
1921 Ground Zero was put on for the Houston community to give creatives and entrepreneurs a platform to gain more exposure and customers. This event purpose is to bridge buyers and brands while also providing opportunities for each to learn, network and conduct new business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
1921 Ground Zero was founded by Pauline Maniago and myself. We are both young creatives who started selling our crafts at local pop up shops until we started throwing our own events. We noticed we shared similar interest in hosting events to help other young entrepreneur gain exposure so we came together and started 1921 Ground Zero to create a bigger platform for young creatives to network and conduct business.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston, Texas is incredibly diverse. It’s one of the best cities to visit especially for foodies. There’s also a lot of fun things to do such as Rooftop Cinema Club at Post Houston or Palace Social. Some brunch places I would recommend is Kamp Houston or Taste Bar. Houston is also known for its nightlife.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
1921 Ground Zero 3rd annual event will be June 11th, 2022. If it wasn’t for my business partner Pauline Maniago, family and friends who supported us throughout our past events we wouldn’t be where we are today. Their continues support plays a big part of our success.
