We had the good fortune of connecting with Chiquita White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chiquita, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought behind starting my business was to show my child, grandson, nieces and nephews. That they do not need to work for others, but they can work for themselves and set their own schedule. They could take their talent and passion and make a business out of it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I work in healthcare as an educator. Being an educator has allowed me to use my skills, by researching the ingredients that I use, medicinal properties of them. I’ve been able to use my listening skills when speaking with customers, so I can provide them right hair care regime they need.
I’m proud that my products are helping others with achieving their hair goals and loving their hair.
I got to where I’m at now by being open and honest with my customers about my products. I won’t sell them my products when I know it won’t work for them. It was easy for me, due to combining my professional and personal career.
I’ve learned when selling my products at Farmers Markets in the summer is brutal on you and your product’s.
I’m very passionate about the ingredients in my products, I use my products faithfully and my family comes first.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to Braman Winery for wine, bingo and music. We would have dinner at Rouxpour and hang out afterwards at The Roof on the Lake.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My daughter and grandson gives me the passion and drive I need to continue, with making a mark on this earth.
