We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina, what do you attribute your success to?
In the current chapter of my life I have an amazing support system from a dedicated and supportive husband and wonderful clientele base , however that has not always been the case. One thing I have always had over the 24 years of my career build is self discipline and the motivation of always giving 160% to hard work behind the chair. I feel that behind any success I may have currently the one the that I have never failed in my venture is hard work and focus on my goals that I have set for myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am so proud of Park Place Hair Salon and all that it entails. My vision I have had for so many years is finally coming to a reality slowly and with a lot of commitment and hard work not just from me but my amazing family of employees. In 2010 I went through a horrible divorce that left me feeling as thought I had to start back from ground zero in my career ….. I was a single mom of 3 kids and I was beyond stressed of how I was going to build the empire I had dreamed of while feeling the hit of starting from scratch after 11 years in the industry at the time. I was 33 years old and really at that time finally came to realize exactly who I was and what I wanted to provide for myself in this life. My goals were to be the best mom I could be and work hard to build a successful career not only to provide for them but also to make myself and my children proud of me. Along the way since 2010 I met and married a wonderful man whom has always respected and supported my drive towards salon success. I opened Park Place Hair Salon in 2020 after 20 years in the industry and overcoming a horrible pandemic that had myself and fellow hair stylists out of work for months. I recently expanded my salon to double the size to add services and more stylists. There aren’t words to describe how blessed I am with a wonderful and talented salon staff that are the heartbeat of my ever growing success. I am a salon owner that also works full time behind the chair – specializing in color , Keratin and precision cutting. I have a talented staff that brings hair extensions, blonding , barbering , waxing , spray tan , make up and more.

The main thing I have truly learned along the years is to never give up drive and perseverance. The moment you start to lose hope in yourself and your journey is the moment your career life goes from difficult to unbearable.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Spring , The Woodlands and Tomball area (where I am centered in the middle of residentially) has so much to offer in so many ways. We are just half an hour north of Houston which as we all know is one of the top cities in the nation ! If I was showing a friend around town for a week (depending on the time of year) we would enjoy all things the Woodlands has to offer like a concert at the Pavillion , shopping at Market Street , meals at one of the many amazing eateries in the area and more. A short drive to Houston takes us to a Texans game , or Rockets or Astros …….. museums , beautiful parks and wonderful sushi bars in midtown.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My salon is located in the heart of Spring , TX which is where I grew up. I have built an amazing clientele of supportive men and women from my home town that support me and my salon growth through social media , word of mouth and constant re bookings. I would not be where I am in my success without the valued support from my hometown community that I respect and adore whole heartedly.
