We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christine, how does your business help the community?
Our team at Bear Hands Media is helping our community through our latest project – Keep HTX Dancing! We’re leading a dance party across Texas to support the Houston Music Foundation of the nonprofit organization Artists for Artists in their efforts to provide grants to Houston Musicians affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal of this project is to not only bring awareness about the crisis relief fund but also bring joy & smiles to our community during these changing times! We wanted to create a dance music video that included our neighbors & friends, near and far, to join the cause and dance with us! With the support of local musicians, Wrestlers, they graciously donated the licensing of their song “Say Anything” to the video. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to give a huge thank you to each and every wonderful individual that has been involved with us on this project thus far! We encourage the community to keep the good vibes rolling – show us your dance moves tagging @HoustonMusicFoundation and hashtagging #keepHTXdancing on Instagram. To donate or for any artist or musician in need of assistance, head over to HoustonMusicFoundation.org Let’s keep Houston moving into action and show our artists & musicians how much we love them! Watch our Keep HTX Dancing music video here, cheers! – https://youtu.be/dBcxkKMAcvo

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been with Bear Hands Media for four years now, and hands down, without a doubt, every bone in me wholeheartedly loves being a part of this team! It’d be a huge understatement that I couldn’t be any more thrilled to say that it’s been one of the biggest blessings of my life & career path! In a working environment, I embrace both the right & left side of my brain – thriving best in a role that allows both creative and organizational skills – and so, I am beyond grateful for the opportunity this team gives me to have the best of both worlds while paving out so much more for my potential. At Bear Hands Media, I enjoy our fun and unique projects – creating impactful films and creative content for our clients. What I enjoy the most is the diversity of our work – from wedding love stories, to documentary TV, to narrative film, to corporate commercials – the new challenges that each project brings is exciting! Through laughter, tears, or even food, I love that our films connect people to a story and emotionally moves & inspires change. On top of that, how extremely lucky am I that I get to work alongside my friends who are always making me laugh! I especially love that we each bring something unique to the team – we all wear multiple hats, yet balance one another, and will always value each other equally. We encourage each other to explore our strengths & weaknesses and we constantly learn from one another as fellow artists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries. That’s all highly important to me for a collaborative environment and I am so proud to be a Bear!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In addition to taking my visiting family & friends to any events going on in the city during that week – one of my most favorite things about Houston is all of the local artsy & foodie spots! Here are some specific places that I completely adore. For food, this is a tough one to narrow down on, because you truly can’t ever go wrong with any and all of the HTX restaurants that actively support Texas farms & purveyors. Some spots I personally have been bringing others to lately are contemporary Kata Robata with its premium sushi and innovative Japanese tapas, classic HTX landmark steakhouse Taste of Texas with its prime quality steaks and accompaniments salad bar, and Japanese izakaya Tiger Den with its ramen tsukemen and robata grill items. For a refreshing array of choices of non-alcoholic drinks, Juice Box is the best with its fresh fruit teas. For things to do, soak up the sun at the city’s many parks such as Levy Park & McGovern Centennial Gardens. Specifically, at Discovery Green, you can sightsee outdoor art pieces and in the fall, enjoy the yearly Korean Festival, while at Hermann Park in the spring, you can enjoy the Japanese Festival. Lastly, Houston’s museum district is to die for – you can indulge in the exhilarating & interesting exhibits at The Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Natural Science, as well as at the Asia Society Texas Center along with its yearly Night Market.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shoutout to my teammates at Bear Hands Media! These Bears are my rock & I am thankful for their encouragement and mentorship. They motivate me to not only strengthen my growth as their teammate but together for our company as well. I also am eternally grateful for my family & friends – they mean the absolute world to me! Their care and love continue to guide & inspire me through my life journey and passions.
