We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Quaye and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christine, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My ultimate end goal is to have financial freedom. Living life on my terms while being able to work and travel. I would like to eventually have my business run without me, while growing and getting into other businesses and ventures.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Blackstar Financial Solutions we think of our clients as partners. We are an essential part to their business and with that we know how important we are in the growth of their business. Starting a business is not easy. Not many make it. Not many can stick it out. Some people take off their first year. Some people take a little longer. But if you believe in what you are doing, your efforts will never be wasted. But it’s important to focus on you and what you envision for your business. If you are looking at other people during the race, you’ll trip, so keep your eyes on the finish line.

It is important to have a solid circle around you. Not everyone is actually for you. Some people are there to watch you fall. Some are there waiting for you to make it so they can eat off your plate. But then there are the people that are there for you, will run errands for you and expect nothing in return. They are the people you want to keep around you. Those are the people that you bless when you’ve made it.

Blackstar Financial Solutions is a company that is focused on helping the community. The people who have dreamed to own their own shop, hair salon, property management company, coffee shop, whatever it is, we want to help your wildest dreams come true.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Now I have become a bit of a homebody but in Houston, I would definitely say the Address or Grooves for happy hour. Maybe a rooftop movie for a chill night. But if I want to go out and have some fun, I’ll go to O2 lounge to party with my fellow Africans.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well I feel like I have to shoutout a lot of people lol. First to God, who continues to guide me and brought this vision into fruition. To my mom who helped mold my foundation. To my friend Jasmine Boney-Henderson who got me into doing taxes at first. And to my love for supporting me and being there for me through everything. I really don’t know where I would be without your support. To my friends who referred people to me and believed in me.
