We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Robles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
in this “industry” or if I’m being honest, in any creative field. Something a lot of people don’t understand is the mental health factor of it. I started doing music when I was really young and it was so much fun and love and so much excitement. But as I got older, and slowly, becoming more aware. It’s very hard to not compare yourself with other creative people in your field, even if it means looks, even if it means music or just flat out feeling as if you’re not doing enough. It honestly might just be me, but even the comments that people leave and the remarks people say, do get to me and it’s kind of scary because I’m still such a tiny artist and I care so much about people’s opinion. I can’t even imagine what my mental health will be if at a point in my career, I’m huge, and in front of a large audience having to watch my every move. So, whenever I see these big articles about these artists, I feel for them, everyone is human.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Something I’m most proud of or you could say lessons learned would be seeing the growth and seeing the understanding of patience, that I didn’t understand before.
So it’s just really exciting especially for the future to see how far and how many achievements I can get for myself.
I honestly think I’m nowhere near a professional standpoint in my craft or creativity. I think I just do the best I can and try to really enjoy it as I’m going. So I would say it wasn’t hard, nor easy, it was more “ as time went on I fell in love with it “ type of thing.
My artist name is differentchris my brand is “i love, love”. The meaning behind it all is to always be nice and kind, it’s super corny. But yeah, why “differentchris” mainly because I was always the “problem” Child the one who would just be myself and all over the place when I was younger. So my parents would always call me different from the rest of the kids, I always wanted to try everything and do everything I seen and soaked everything in like a sponge so yeah. That’s it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
pretty simple, but take them to the Houston Art Museum. I think the place is really beautiful and simple. Great for pictures plus it’s around downtown area. Which means we can walk around and explore
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say definitely all my friends I’ve had around me my whole life. Noah, Robert, Fah, Iri, Alex. they would always be there when I’m feeling down or any type away like that so shout out to them.
also a ton of audiobooks that I can’t even name, there’s just so many!
