Meet Christy Gaia | Floral, Interior & Seasonal designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christy Gaia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I am in love with the idea of “staying creative” “stay interesting” and “stay interested! Creativity is the main reason I wanted to start my business. I wanted to be able to express my creativity through flowers and seasonal decorations. Creativity keeps my mind open to new ideas, keeps my mind active and allows me to view and solve problems more openly. Flowers and plants are proven to increase creativity (they’re linked to an increase in positive energy). I have done interior design/decor, Fresh floral and seasonal design/decor for a long time but after 2020, I felt more connected to the floral and seasonal decor business and I feel that our immediate area needed a “unique” floral and seasonal designer. Through my work I can share my passion with others.

Attention to detail is what I am proud of. I like to put extra touches to floral, events and seasonal decorations. I like to draw your eyes and imagination into the work. What I want most to convey from my brand is uniqueness! In all my seasonal work, I never create the same “theme”. Uniqueness and creativity are so important to me.
 
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am still searching for those fun, interesting places. That is why I mentioned to “stay interested.” I would try to find us new places that allow us to interact in some way. To me it is exciting to try new things so I would first have to see how much time we have for this special week long trip but it would be packed with things we haven’t done before and I would be sure to do an extensive online search for unique places to see and do!

 
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have always had great love and encouragement from family and friends. There are so many different sources of people and organizations that give me inspiration.
