We had the good fortune of connecting with Chynna Benton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chynna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?

I truly believe that the success of my brand up to this point has been a result of me consistently going above and beyond to treat the people we work with as people. It’s one of my core values!

It’s always been extremely important to me that even though my clients, students and I aren’t physically together – They can always count on me and trust me to do what’s in their best interest.

Over the years, I’ve found that the biggest fear of most business owners looking to hire a VA or other online service provider is simply just trusting the person that they’re hiring enough to release control and delegate tasks.

So I’ve always done my best to show them how much I care for them as a person as much as I care about their business. They’ve always felt that authenticity and love from me enough to not only hire me, but share me with their friends as well!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I began my career in events management, specifically the wedding industry. After working a few years, I started my business as a Virtual Assistant on the side of working my day job when I found out my husband was being laid off from his job.

I found that a ton of wedding professionals needed back-end support from Virtual Assistants and my industry experience was really beneficial for them. I already understood their business and what their couples looked for from them! So it was a really good fit for all of us. 🙂

Six months after landing my first client, I ended up quitting my day job to support clients full-time. It was wild, stressful, and so exciting all at the same time!

Over time, I found that I really thrive in operations management and helping business owners run their companies in a more streamlined and automated way with systems + processes. So I slowly transitioned into working as an Online Business Manager to provide a higher-level of support for my clients.

It’s been an incredible shift because a lot of small business owners don’t really know HOW to run their business in an efficient way or just hate the idea of creating systems and find it wildly boring. Since that’s really my zone of genius – I’ve found it to be a really good fit for everyone!

After working with my Online Business Management clients for several years and being asked over and over again by others on how they can get started as a Virtual Assistant – I launched Byte Bodega’s Signature program – The Virtual Assistant Blueprint – in 2021.

It’s my way of supporting other people who want to gain the same work freedom and flexibility that I’ve gotten from starting my company. I saw the need was there and I wanted to help, much like my services a few years before!

So now I support my clients and my course students every day and I absolutely love it!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live outside of Boston and I’m obsessed with the northeast as a whole!

We would definitely catch a Red Sox Game at Fenway. Before we head to the ball field, we’d stop at Regina’s Pizzeria for a fresh pie and stop at Bova’s Bakery for Cannoli’s in the North End of the city. Yum!

We’d also make a stop at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston to walk through the galleries and check out the most recent exhibit. I go so often that I’m a member!

If they wanted to do something outside the city, I’d also schedule a day to hit up Crane Beach for some sun and go to Kimball Farm for Ice Cream.

Last but not least, they would need to have a Lobster Roll at Luke’s Lobsters. It’s a must in this part of the country! 😉

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people that deserve the biggest shoutout in my story are the founders of the Bucketlist Bombshells Courses, Cassie and Shay. Their program was what originally introduced me to the world of online, service-based businesses and what lit the fire under me to launch my company.

I’d also shout out and thank my husband, John, for his constant and unwavering support from the very beginning of my business. He’s been my biggest cheerleader from day one when I told him I was going to quit my job and convince strangers on the internet to hire me to work for them. haha!
