We had the good fortune of connecting with Cinthia Elizondo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cinthia, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
Building something I’m able to pass down to my children was an ultimate goal of mine. What I do and what I’ve been building is not only for myself but for my kids as well. I like to invest in things my children can benefit from in the future and having a business, a successful one at that, is definitely a great thing to pass down. Even if my kids are not into this certain type of business as they grow older, they can always gain something out of it. And although, I am not where I want to be just yet, I am certain enough I will get there!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Starting a business is never easy. We went through a few obstacles to get to where we are today. We started out only wanting to offer rentals but people would constantly ask for balloon decor so I had no choice but to learn. Little did I know I was going to love doing balloon work! Every future install is always exciting. Getting everything together for the event and then seeing the final result is always a great feeling.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First of all, I’d take them to the flea market to munch on some delicious tacos, churros and corn! I love to eat so my first suggestion will be food places. We’d also take a trip to NASA space center and Moody Gardens to see the animals and astronaut history. We’d probably end the week at Kemah Boardwalk or Pleasure Pier to get on the rides and walk around the boardwalk!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I couldn’t be where I am today without the help of my husband. He motivated me and helped me build this business from the start. Just like everybody else, I was afraid to start a business on my own but he saw my potential in it and pushed me. Aside from working his regular Monday-Friday job, he also helps me on weekends and follows me along to all events. He is definitely a hard worker and I appreciate everything he does for me and our family.
