We had the good fortune of connecting with Clyde Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Clyde, how do you define success?
I know some people may visualize success as a monetary value or level or status. I define success in more of a qualitative standpoint. I enjoy slow mornings. Being able to wake up when my body tells me to and then going to stretch, meditate, fix a huge breakfast while I watch the sunrise. The minute I am able to do that every single day regardless of how many outside factors I have going on in my life, that’s when I’ll know I am truly successful.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel what sets me apart from others with my business is that I came into it not wanting to make a dime. I started my brand in the middle of the pandemic when I was pulled from my clinical rotations at the moment due to covid with no real income coming in. I still decided to start a brand with the intent on getting my ideas into the universe. I was passionate about fashion from a young age and I always knew doing it for the passion and not the penny would take me further. Eventually the passion would produce the pennies.
Was the journey starting the brand easy?
Yes and no. It was easy because I was finally doing what I wanted to do without any boundaries but it was challenging because I had to balance finishing graduate school at the time during a pandemic and not knowing where my professional career would go although I was banking on my career to fund the business. During this journey I learned to not flood my own market. Im a creative at heart and I was sitting on hundreds of designs that I was eager to drop and I overwhelmed my customers with so much that nothing was selling. I even began producing stuff that didn’t embody the brand then I honed in on what my brand stood for and a few GOOD products and it took off.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I actually have an itinerary specifically for Houston that I just pull from when people come to visit. Here is goes:

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s so many people I can attribute this success to but I won’t sit here and try to limit the amount of people I name for the sake of keeping this answer short. I will say this though, If you’re reading this and/or you received the link to this article from me personally its because you’ve had a hand in the success of either me, my business, or both. I want to thank you from the depths of my heart for help create the man that you have, supporting my dreams, and always encouraging me to go a little bit further even when I may not have wanted to. Curation takes on a new meaning. It’s the collective of all of you that may have taken the time out of your day to recognize and learn about me and my business. Energy is reciprocated and multiplied so I know the energy you’ve given here will be received and returned to you tenfold!
