We had the good fortune of connecting with Codie Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Codie, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
When I really think about this question, I have to say that I have always felt that the people around me tried to put me in a box! A box to where it was just black and white, this is the way it should be, this is how it’s done. From childhood and up! I don’t at all think they meant this with bad intentions! I just believe that they thought they know what was best for me, how I should live my life, and what my success would look like!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m now a multi published model who has been published in “Shude”, and “HorizonT” magazine. I was the feathered model in volume 11 of “In the City” magazine as well as being in a two other issues, and I was the on the cover of issue 42 of “Beautiful & Dauntless“ magazine! I waiting on a few other magazines to release their new issues as we speak, so I can share those publications. I was able to do two live TV news sessions, CW Channel 39 and KPRC Channel 2 News, both in the Houston TX area. Victoria Henley, from ANTM (cycle 19), reached out to work with me, so I’m blessed to have some upcoming events with her! And I was also picked to compete in Miss Fashion Global International Modeling Competition which will be in November 2020 located in Destin, FL. Outside of my modeling I am a full time student at the University of Houston studying for my Bachelors in Retail & Consumers Science with a standing GPA of 3.6.  I have also set out of my comfort zone and started the process of being a entrepreneur by opening a online store, Destiny’s Treasure Box (@destinystreasurebox). I am still in the early stages of starting this business, but we will be offering a variety of different clothing and accessories. I also offer consultations on my website (www.codiegreen.com) to help those who want to become a model or even help move ones career forward. But before anything I am a mother to my two amazing children, Christian and Chloé!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love being able to be outside and enjoying mother nature! I would bring them to hike the trails of the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center or the Jesse H Jones Park & Nature Center. Or we would go take pictures and enjoy the view of Houston’s Graffiti Building! Once we recovered from all the walking in the sun, we could hit a few sport bars downtown to enjoy the night life Houston has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I first want to thank God because without him I wouldn’t be here today! Then I want to give a big THANK YOU to my children, Chistian and Chloé! They push me everyday to do better and try to make something out of nothing for them! My parents, Tammy (@tammywallace1974) and Wilbert (@wwbrnt), they have always been a great deal of support for me since I started all this! And Greg Bradley, thank you for always supporting me even when it was hard! Ms. Tisha, (@tishasboutique) thank you for always believing in me from the beginning, and for always keeping me looking amazing! I also want to say thank you to Victoria Henley (@victorhenley) for being willing to work with me and help me along the way. I have worked with a lot of great photographers, but just to name a few that I’m thankful for: Darius Wiggins (@the22gate), Joseph Mayer (@jgmivphoto), and always Jonathan Garrett (@jongarrttphotography) for my very first publication!
