We had the good fortune of connecting with Contraband Bigz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Contraband, what do you attribute your success to?
Brand recognition , Brand recognition , Brand recognition . That’s how you attach an audience across the different platforms , Your Brand how be easily recognizable to the point that you found across all Platforms. Music Platforms , Social Media Platforms ETC.

My Logo come from researching the classics and realizing that black and white can be any thing, Although Color may be appealing to the eye , those typically fade out with the times. If a logo start off as a classic it will never get old , oddly as that sounds. Makes it easy for merch and and old non musical adventures and associations.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart is my Dope roots in my city . Growing up in Houston, I absorbed the rich culture of Southern hip-hop, from the chopped and screwed sound to the storytelling that reflects real life. Now living in Atlanta, I blend that unique style with the vibrant energy of this city. It’s about bridging the gap and creating something fresh. I’m most proud of the connections I’ve built along the way. Rather its Houston or Atlanta I’m excited to see how my work resonates with people. Still to this day my reputation as a serious artist is bar non. I do a lot to maintain my respect from anybody that know me in my field. My Connections in the music industry from my work has open doors that’s money cant buy.

IT wasn’t easy, but the biggest lesson I learned is not not make BIG decisions quickly, That’s a recipe for failure. Typically making a quick decision can back fire and if a person forcing you to make a Big quick decision always decline. I never regret a decision.

I want the world to know that my brand isn’t just about music; it’s about storytelling and connection. I want to inspire others to embrace their own dope and to keep hustling, no matter the obstacles. My story is about evolution the power of perseverance.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
All my Friends are either into Media or Fashion in some type of way or the other ,With that being said something with the arts is always a great time. Open mic nights armature hour with comedians and good food . One place that’s ben having me in a choke is a place call “Fins and Feathers” in midtown Atlanta. That place right now is my Favorite , the food and Vibe neve disappoint . Being that its only ben a year since I moved to Atlanta , I am sill finding places . The place before that was a place called EdgeWood Pizza , it was a pizza spot where u can smoke at .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely shouting out my Engineer Kalani on the Beat , we started working together on my last project with the song “War wit Us” . He puts me in a space where I don’t have to do everything on my own , being and ex Engineer my self I’m used to doing the verse beat and session by my self.

He came along at a time where I was looking to improve my sound, some times ad artist we need a 2nd ear of non bias. I know I needed something new to get my sound over the top, and his hardware polish was the answer. The change made my sound radio ready with that Quality people hear on the radio. Having a engineer you can trust eases off the pressure of doing everything my self. So, somebody like Kalani was a great addition to have on the team and Definitely deserves a S/O from the Dope .
