We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Dunham and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, what inspires you?
I am inspired by my own thoughts, my own words. Whether they are negative, positive, discouraging, motivating, full or empty. I am inspired by them because I know that once they are spoken out of my mouth, I made a decision. Mental stimulation can come in all forms. We can be inspired to do great or terrible.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Professionally, I sell bottled water. Water is the most essential compound that restores, regulates, boosts and helps in all kinds of fashions for our bodies. The Selling water is a reflection of who I am and what I know my purpose in life is which is to present or re-introduce people to the essentials. By that, I mean themselves. Helping people to discover who they are, restoring back to them a mindset they may have lost, boosting their self-esteem with their own words and showing them how to regulate against negativity. What sets me a part from other people is knowing that I don’t need to reach the masses, but to reach that one person who can reach the masses. Continuing to walk on my path when it may not be popular or approved is challenging because who doesn’t want to be “liked” by people? My professional life is what I use to inspire others. As the published author of InsYde Out Beauty, I shared my story of rejection, restoration and shifting. Writing this short book gave me the courage to stand with my head held up because I knew others needed to know they were not alone. My book is also birthing a new venture called insYde grind as it relates to health and wellness.
The world should know that I was here. I was here to make a difference one person at a time. The world should know that I am purposed to bring light to the Y.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take my friend to the museum district and the Breakfast Klub. This would be our first stop because I enjoy learning and grits. Whomever, I am friends with will share those interests. Throughout the week we will do adventurous things such as biking through Houston with 3rdward tours, obstacle courses at Texas Treeventures in The Woodlands and competing at places like Main Event. To end the week, we surely would indulge in everything Tex-Mex!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my family for rooting for me even when they don’t fully understand what I am doing. My cheering squad.

Shoutout to my running group Champions Running Association for being supportive during every race, post and run goals achieved.
Shoutout to me for giving myself permission to dive in!
Shoutout to The Creator for guiding my footsteps even when I had my own plan.
