We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtnie-Anne Quinlan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtnie-Anne, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
A close friend asked me to officiate her wedding many years ago. Customizing her special day was exciting and fun! I started From This Day On because I love seeing other people happy and in love and want to make sure they have the most magical day as possible.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
From This Day On goes above and beyond to bring that extra special something to any wedding ceremony. A couple can customize their wedding whichever ways they’d like; particular theme, readings they love, unique unity. We pride ourselves in accepting all people, from every walks of life. Whether you are religious, non-religious, LGBTQ+, you are loved and welcomed by From This Day On.

Every day with From This Day On is truly different and has its own challenges and successes. It hasn’t always been easy to get to where I am now. I’ve learned there is always a way to achieve your goals. You have to take everything one step at a time. I’ve found making many small goals that all lead up to the ultimate goal to be my best approach. I want everything to happen right away and need to remind myself that isn’t always going to happen and to breathe.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a non-Texas native myself, I love giving visitors a much of a Houston, TX experience as possible. Houston has become such a melting pot of cultures which makes the food here unmatched. But, I always take visitors for bbq and of course Tex-Mex. The Pit Room on Richmond has melt in your mouth bbq. You can never go wrong dining at any of the Pappas restaurants (Pappasito’s, Pappas Seafood House, Pappa Bros). I love all the walking trails around the city. They are such a great way to see the city, exercise and get fresh air. And of course I could never have a visitor and not take them line dancing! Stampede is the place to be for some country fun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
While there are a few people that deserve a shoutout, two really come to mind: My Mom, Mary Jane Bussiere and boyfriend, Josh Ukah. My mom has always told me I could do anything I set my mind to and that dedication and hard work will always pay off in the end. She is a strong and kindhearted woman I hope to be like. Josh’s love for him is unwavering. He inspires me to be better every day.
