We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Clay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When my sister Psychotherapist Extraordinaire, Lola Clay approached me about starting our own practice, I was excited! I loved the idea of working with her and I had always been passionate about helping others, so having the chance to do both simultaneously was very intriguing to me!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Zen Imago, PLLC is the counseling, and psychotherapy, coaching, and consulting practice I co-founded with my sister Lola. My specialties are addiction and anger and I absolutely love my work!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If someone were visiting the Houston area I would tell them to visit Perry’s Sugarland, go watch a football game at Libations where the crowd really gets into the game, have a mocktail at B’s Wine Bar and Bistro while the DJ spins the best jams, and go see my girl Wendy at Amy’s Skincare & Med Spa! She will get you glowing! And get a relaxing mani/pedi at Shades Nail Bar!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
For me, that’s easy! My greatest shout out would be to my mother, Emily! She has been the greatest single influence in my life! She was a very beautiful, kind, nurturing, and positive person! She didn’t engage in gossip or negativity of any kind! She worked hard and along with my father and paternal grandmother, “Big Lola” was committed to providing their children with more opportunities than they had. And then there is my dear sister Lola! Lola is just the best person! So beautiful, so smart, and so kind!
