We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Plummer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Crystal, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The journey to creating Nest Builders Collective (NBCO) was a gradual evolution for me, Crystal Plummer, as a business owner. Initially, my professional path began as a banker turned Realtor, where I ventured through different business ideas and names. However, the turning point came when I took over a local moms group called Katy Moms, which has now transformed into Katyish Women.
During my tenure with Katy Moms, I discovered a deep passion for community building and fostering connections among moms and women within the area. This experience sparked a realization that I could combine my expertise in real estate with my newfound passion for community engagement. That’s when the idea of Nest Builders struck me – a concept that encapsulated both real estate and the spirit of building a nurturing and supportive community.
Over time, Nest Builders continued to evolve, eventually leading to the formation of Nest Builders Collective (NBCO). NBCO now stands as a powerful collective comprising real estate professionals, moms, and various networking groups. This collaborative effort enables us to not only assist individuals in finding their dream homes but also to empower women and foster a strong sense of community.
Today, almost two years after its inception, Nest Builders Collective stands as a testament to the power of adapting and embracing change in the pursuit of meaningful and impactful ventures. The journey has been both challenging and rewarding, and I’m proud to see how far we’ve come and how we continue to positively influence the lives of many within our community.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What I am most proud of and excited about is the growth and impact Nest Builders Collective (NBCO) has achieved since its inception. Seeing how this venture has evolved from a simple idea to a thriving collective that fosters community building and supports women in real estate is incredibly fulfilling. The passion and dedication that our team and the community members have shown in making NBCO a reality inspire me daily.
Getting to where we are today business-wise has been a journey filled with both challenges and triumphs. Building a successful business is rarely easy, and NBCO was no exception. The initial stages required significant effort to establish our brand, build a network of collaborators, and gain the trust of our clients. Overcoming the challenges involved perseverance, adaptability, and a willingness to learn from setbacks.
One of the key lessons I’ve learned along the way is the power of collaboration and community support.
Another crucial lesson has been the importance of embracing change and staying open to new ideas. As the business landscape evolves, so must our approach. Adapting to market trends, technological advancements, and customer preferences has allowed NBCO to remain relevant and competitive.
Moreover, I’ve learned that perseverance is vital in entrepreneurship. Challenges and setbacks are inevitable, but maintaining a positive mindset and staying committed to the vision are what lead to long-term success.
What I want the world to know about NBCO is that we are more than just a real estate collective. Our brand and story embody a commitment to community, empowerment, and inclusivity. We strive to create spaces where women can connect, support each other’s ambitions, and find the resources they need to thrive in the real estate industry. Our dedication to giving back to the community and supporting local businesses is at the core of our values.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a week-long trip with my best friend, I would plan an exciting itinerary that showcases the best of the area, focusing on great food, local experiences, and entertainment.
Day 1:
Arrival day! We would kick off the trip with a visit to Crave Cupcakes in the Galleria area for a sweet treat to welcome my friend to town.
In the evening, we would have dinner at Gatlin’s BBQ, indulging in some delicious Texas-style barbecue and enjoying the cozy atmosphere.
Day 2:
Morning brunch at a local favorite spot, Ginos Italian Restaurant, to savor some authentic Italian & pizza cuisine and start the day off right.
Afterward, we’d explore some of the unique boutiques in the area, with Teal Poppy being one of our stops for shopping.
Day 3:
We’d spend the day exploring some of the city’s cultural landmarks, like museums or art galleries, depending on our interests.
In the evening, happy hour at Bretts BBQ and more in the Heights or Midtown area would be the perfect way to unwind and enjoy some local brews or cocktails.
Day 4:
A day trip to a nearby nature reserve or park for some outdoor adventure and a chance to take in the scenic beauty of the region.
Day 5:
An evening of entertainment! We would check the local concert listings and catch a live show with a friend, soaking in the vibrant music scene.
Day 6:
A relaxing day at one of the nearby beaches or lakes, allowing us to bask in the sun and take a break from the city’s hustle and bustle.
Day 7:
On the last day, we would have a farewell dinner at a trendy restaurant in the area, cherishing the memories we’ve created throughout the week.
