We had the good fortune of connecting with D3CADE and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi D3CADE, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I was born with a birth defect called Spina Bifida, so my entire life has been a risk in some ways I would say, I was always told I would never walk or talk or do anything I do now. So I would say I have had to take many forms of risks to get to where I am today in my career and life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
D3CADE is a brilliant and talented rapper from Oklahoma. His real name is Cade Henderson and he’s twenty seven years old. Cade was born with a birth defect called
spina bifida, which caused his spinal cord to grow out of his back. Cade’s mother was
told that he’d never be able to walk or talk. Cade started walking when he was two
years old and started talking before that. Cade’s lost his father to murder when he
was just nine months old. And he uses leg braces to walk around. To say that Cade’s
life has been hard would be an understatement. But that never stopped Cade in any
way. Cade has always been a warrior and has always fought through whatever stood
in his way. He has had a dream of becoming an outstanding musician, and has been
working towards that dream since he was 13 years of age. Music means everything
to Cade because that’s what he loses himself to in order to fight back and make
things work. Cade’s talent lies in being able to put a beat to anything that he can
imagine and then writing the lyrics to express himself. Cade’s music is reflective of
the tough life that he’s led, so prepare to have your heart broken by this promising
talent straight from Oklahoma.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Here in Oklahoma City we have Brick Town that is probably the biggest hangout spot in Oklahoma! There’s tons of little dive bars and things like that! There’s also tons of restaurants in the area! On any given weekend you can find a musical performance in Oklahoma City! You can visit the Oklahoma Bombing Memorial or check out the Museum! There’s also a boardwalk in Brick Town! It’s a pretty fun place to adventure!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Gotta start with the most important ones, My momma, My dad (RIP), My Grandma & Grandpa, Brother & Sister and all of my other family members have always been my biggest support group. Without them I wouldn’t be who i am today so definitely a shout out to them!

One last shout out is a little different, shout out to anybody on this earth that ever doubted me, it only motivated me and made me go harder! Without that drive you gave me i probably wouldn’t be where I am at today! So yeah, shout out to yall! Haha
