We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I grew up in a single parent household with my mom, sister, and two brothers. Being that my mom was a single mama, she had to work a lot. Although I hated that as a kid because I wanted my mom to be home more, it impacted me today by instilling the value of hardwork in me. I’m very hard-working, industrious, and disciplined because of my upbringing.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the proud owner of Posh and Pretty Brow Bar located in the Clear Lake arear of Houston. I specialized in permanent (ombre) eyebrows, broom grooming, and most recently saline tattoo removal. What I am most proud of in my business is that I build it from the ground up. I’m still in the building phase of my business, but I have come so far since it’s humble beginnings and that makes me proud. To get to where I am today, I had to make a lot of sacrifices, including lost time with my daughter, lost sleep, a whole lot of money, and mental and physical burnout. It definitely has not been easy and there have been many challenges along the way. I’ve overcome those challenges by simply choosing to commit to why I started this business and persevering. I consider myself to be a woman of my word, so the last person I will break a commitment to is me. The biggest lessons that I have learned along the way are to be consistent, hone your craft, and face fear head on.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite spots are Baybrook Mall, Snooze A.M. Eatery, and I just discovered this nice restaurant spot Downtown called District 7.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my mom for teaching me the value of hardwork and dedication. I would also like to shoutout my daughter, Kylie and all of my nieces and nephews for being my inspiration to make sure I leave an amazing legacy for them. Lastly, I would like to shoutout out all of my friends, family, followers, and supporters for keeping me encouraged and inspired!
