We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ D Baby and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DJ D Baby, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I really just wanted to be the decision maker in my life from the top to the bottom. The only way I could manifest that vision was to be my own boss.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m beyond ecstatic about going into 2022 with a new business venture. In the beginning stages of creating my hookah company, The Hookah Heroes, I didn’t know where to start. With that came a lot research, hard work, and patience. What I have learned is that as clear as my vision and goals may be and no matter how much planning I put into a task things may not go as I’ve foreseen. Those experiences have taught me getting discouraged is easy but trusting the process isn’t.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Here in Houston there’s so much to do, depending on the day of the week there’s always a popping spot to go. Our itinerary would be based on our vibe at the time.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Most of my entrepreneurship was inner-driven. However, if I had to accredit a person for assisting in that drive it would be my father. My entire life I watched my father work his way up. Often working multiple jobs including having his own businesses to provide the lifestyle he desired for him and his family.
