We had the good fortune of connecting with Deb Arnold and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deb, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Success looks different to everyone; for me, two things come to mind- building relationships and perseverance.
Building relationships isn’t just about the surface level conversations, but about the open and honest communication that allows me the opportunity to build lasting relationships. Understanding how to relate to others is a gift I cherish and cultivate with each relationship I build. Appreciating and respecting others for who they are as individuals is something I have found to be essential in every facet of life.
Anyone who has started a business or knows someone that has, knows that it isn’t always rainbows and butterflies. When I decided to step out of my comfort zone and start my business, I knew I needed to take a leap of faith and trust the process, especially knowing I would continue to learn how to persevere through new challenges.
What should our readers know about your business?
Earning the trust of my clients takes top priority and I strive to earn this trust through hard work, integrity, and outstanding client service. Whether we have met previously or meeting for the first time, I love to sit down with my clients to allow me the opportunity to build a lasting relationship.
It definitely hasn’t been an easy journey getting to where I am today with my business, but I wouldn’t change it for the world! Real estate has always interested me, it was just a matter of setting aside the time to buckle down and study for my license. God’s plan was set in motion when I was laid off, effective immediately and without severance. Not only was that challenge enough, but I was six months pregnant. I knew then I had to make a change.
I’ve learned to accept the challenges set before me and use them to build not only my business, but relationships. Empathy and respect are vital when it comes to being successful and I feel the challenges I’ve faced have allowed me to learn that lesson.
With a passion for building lifelong relationships, I am ready to get to know you and your family to build a solid team, where together we will accomplish your home buying and selling goals.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Spontaneity is the best way to plan a trip with family and friends in my opinion, and if there is one thing to know about me, I am a huge foodie, so grab your fork and knife and join me for the week!
Day 1: We would start off our day with some rich home-brewed coffee and breakfast taco bar with sizzling chorizo, potatoes, topped with homemade salsa and fresh flour tortillas ( I don’t like eggs, but it’s a must for my bestie) at home. Then we can head out for some shopping at the Cypress Outlets and then wind down that evening grabbing some refreshing margaritas and delicious food at Ambrizas, in Town Lake.
Day 2: After getting a good night’s rest, we would venture down to the inner loop of Houston heading for The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation where we would enjoy Fajitas topped with their amazing a la berry sauce, before catching a Houston Astros game that afternoon
Day 3: The sandy beaches of Galveston are just over an hour away, so we would throw on our flip flops and sunhats and take a quick trip to the coast and relax. Before heading back home we would stop for some savory seafood at either Shrimp and Stuff or Gaidos, depending on our mood.
Day 4: After exploring the city and the beach we would then take a day just to relax and enjoy each other’s company at my cozy home and take a refreshing dip in the pool. For dinner I would ask my bestie to pick between Taste of Texas, Rainbow Lodge or Brenner’s on the Bayou!
Day 5: We would hop back into the car for a quick day trip out to Brenham to eat lunch at one of my favorite BBQ restaurants, L J’s BBQ; followed up with a pit stop to look at the shops downtown and then grab some dessert at Blue Bell Creameries.
Day 6: If the mood strikes for a bit of local history and culture, we will then visit the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston or even get a buzz from space at the Space Center in Houston.
Day 7: On our last morning together, we would eat another scrumptious breakfast together at my house, and then I would pack up some snacks and drinks for her drive back home!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that I am grateful for, so it’s hard to pick a specific person or thing. What I can say is this: my success is due to the support of my family, friends and clients, but most importantly because of the man upstairs! I truly believe that people are placed in our life when we need them the most and it’s up to us on how we grow and nurture those relationships.
I would like to recognize my mother who, as a strong and intelligent woman herself, has inspired me to the best I can be as a woman, a person, and a business owner.
& a huge shoutout to my husband for being my voice of reason, one of my biggest supporters and my rock!
