Hi Dee, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?

Great questions! Art is more than just a passion for me; it’s an integral part of Dee Vongole. While I’ve always drawn inspiration from nature, my art journey is a blend of nature and life experiences, especially considering the challenges faced as a female artist in my culture. Choosing colors is like telling a story for me. I aim to inspire feelings of light, calmness, security, and the essence of home. Coming from a family where I’m the only sole artist brought its challenges, but nothing is impossible. To those pursuing their dreams, I can’t stress this enough: never give up. Be your own cheerleader when no one else is cheering. Your persistence pays off, and you’ll eventually surround yourself with like-minded individuals—positive, supportive, hardworking heroes who inspire you to achieve great things.
In the midst of challenges, remember not to let anyone dim your light. Embrace your inner boss, keep pushing forward, and create a circle of inspiration around you. At Deeore Home, we believe in the power of individual strength and collective positivity to accomplish remarkable things. Be the boss you are!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love playing tour guide when my friends visit my hometown, Houston, TX. The adventure would start right at my home, where I enjoy hosting and cooking for my guests. The must-try during the visit is my husband’s chai tea—it’s a crowd favorite, not just because he’s my husband, but according to all our friends and relatives. While I take pride in my cooking, I’d also make sure to treat my friends to the unique flavors at Himalaya Restaurant. Known for its award-winning Indian and Pakistani dishes with surprising combinations, it’s a culinary experience they won’t forget.
To wrap up the day, we’d head to Eleanor Tinsley Park, a gem within Buffalo Bayou Park. With its stunning view of the Houston cityscape, it’s the perfect way to end the day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Nature is my muse, and my deep love for it shines through in every product. But I want to give a massive shoutout to my incredible husband—my ultimate cheerleader. His unwavering belief in me has been the fuel behind Deeore Home’s journey. Having my family’s support is not just strength; it’s the driving force that propels us forward.
