We had the good fortune of connecting with Deisy Acuna and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deisy, what makes you happy? Why?
My job really makes me happy. I truly love what I do and It also gives me the freedom I never had before. I’m a mother of 2 and I used to be in the medical field and I had to be at work before school drop off in the mornings and although being a realtor is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, I truly do love the freedom I have to make my schedule and to be able to drop off and pick my children from school almost every day. I’m a hard-working mom and wife and my family is my biggest motivation. I also love being part of such a big moment in my clients lives and I’m so grateful to every single one on them for allowing me to be part of it.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am currently a real estate agent in Houston Tx. Originally from Rio Grande Valley next to the Texas and Mexico border but moved to Houston at the age of 9 so I’m very knowledgeable with the city. I pride myself in giving my clients 150%, going above and beyond is always my goal and giving great customer service is a huge deal to me as well. I have learned that my job is 24/7 and I take that very seriously for I understand it’s okay to take time off, but my clients always have access to getting in touch with me for whatever they need. Real estate is by far the hardest thing I have ever done, it takes constant work every single day. I believe in Real Estate there is no mystery secret to success, you simply have to Hustle.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh wow, so many places to choose from. That is one of the things I love most about Houston, the number of options we have is phenomenal. I love Truth BBQ for a lunch date, they have to be one of the best barbeque places in Houston. For a special occasion I always go to Guard and Grace, the whole menu is top notch. If we were doing Sunday Funday I would definitely head out to Kemah to explore the boardwalk and enjoy the rides, they have a great amount of restaurants that are great.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I have to thank my husband for being my biggest supporter. The first few months in real estate are hard and having someone to back you up can definitely determine whether you can even continue in the business. I would also like to thank my mentor, Andrea Tran. I knew coming into the business, I had to find a mentor to guide me through it all. When I heard about the AT Group mentorship, I immediately applied because I knew I had to be part of it.
