We had the good fortune of connecting with Deja Randle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deja, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born in Chicago, Illinois, but I have lived in Minnesota majority of my life. I’m the youngest of 3, and of course the only girl. So you know how that goes. Growing up I was very guarded, and protected by my family. My family has always been very supportive of me and any endeavors I choose to engage in. I never realized how much I valued that until I got older. Because of that love, support, and protection I wasn’t afraid to do anything I set my mind to. And from there I became the go getter I am today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a part time Youtuber, a part time entrepreneur with a hair business, and a full time employee as a healthcare worker. . What sets me apart from others is my originality, my honesty, and ability to engage with my audience where it feels like we’re friends. I tell my story and show my journey; while my journey is unique it’s also similar to others, and relatability and transparency got me the supporters I have now. I’m most excited about growth. I can’t wait until my small community becomes a big one. I got to where I am today by being myself, speaking my truth, and having enough drive and discipline to keep going. I might pause but I never stop. Nothing comes easy or by luck, but I do believe changing your mind set can make it feel easy, just make sure you still put in work. When challenges arrived I’d tell myself I’m not the only one it’s happened to. Figure it out. One way might not work, but there’s still 10 other ways you haven’t tried. It’s all in the mindset. Thoughts become your reality. Be kind to yourself through the good and bad parts of your journey. Ive learned a few lessons on my journey. Dont hate on nobody and don’t wait on nobody. Your time will come. time is also earned not meant to give freely, value your time, and be mindful of what and who you’re putting your energy into. It makes a huge difference. Surround yourself with like minded people. Be your own biggest fan. And lastly make sure whatever you’re doing is your passion. Doing something you don’t really love can be very draining and feel like a task, you want it to be fun and flow so it never feels like work. I want the world to know I’m on the come up. I moved to Houston , just me my dog and a dream/want for more. My YouTube and my supporters mean so much to me. I enjoy telling my stories and experiences and sharing my everyday life, struggles and my family with my supporters. It’s really not a better feeling when you’re a content creator. My storefront will be up in 2023 and I’m working hard behind the scenes to make sure every client has a premium experience when they walk through my door. This year is coming to an end, but next year is going to be epic and I hope my story motivates somebody to get up and go get it. Anything is possible. I’m proof.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have only been in houston a few months but so far these are my favorite places. To eat you definitely have to go to turkey leg hut. It’s a vibe and real experience. For my fellow seafood lovers, lotus will get you together everytime. Seaside has amazing lamb chops and el taconazo is my favorite for tacos. For drinks and hanging out I suggest Kamp, 5015, and bungalow. For views and great food Z23 on the rooftop it great. There’s always something to do in houston. So many events, and excursions botanical gardens, putty, day parties. Whew. Just make sure you’re well rested before touching down in houston.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family has been phenomenal throughout this entire journey I started a few years ago. Without the love, support , and encouragement I wouldn’t be nearly as far as I am today. I’ve read great self help books along the way. My two favorite at the moment are, “how to stop doubting your greatness” by Jen Sincero and “The power of self discipline” by Brian Tracy
