We had the good fortune of connecting with DejaNay Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DejaNay, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I will never give up or think about giving up. If I ever feel like I’m stuck or in a uncreative space and don’t feel as if I progressing in anyway . I will just take a break and go back to the drawing broad. And find ways to improve . And do more reach and come back stronger. They say you fail seven times before success. I say it just wasn’t my turn or time yet. And when my time comes I will be more than ready.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a upcoming Youtuber in the process of rebranding my channel and really finding my place and category i would fit best in. I am also launching a press on nail business on October 23, 2023 called “Deez_Nailbox”. I will be customizing all nail sets. I am most excited about finally taking my time and launching my business and the rebranding of my channel. I am excited to meet new people in my area that relates to my story and my career path. I got to where I am today by the motivation from my family and my boyfriend for sure. They really helped my get out of if own head and out of my comfort zone. It definitely was not easy and I struggle every once in a while but my boyfriend always lets me know to keep pushing. I have learned a lot of lessons on my journey . I learned for sure that consistency is key in any business and in anything that you do. With consistency you will see results. That’s the biggest lesson I have learned on my journey. I want the world to know it is not easy to start something and have people to relate right off the back. You have to put in the work and be creative. And if nobody supports you, you have to support yourself always because there is people out there that have been through the same thing and they will come out of nowhere and they will be your biggest supporters. I also want the world to know that I took my time with this brand and it means a lot to me and I just want to women know that it is okay to be different and have your own style and switch it up every once in a while and every hair color , nail color , skin color , body size you are beautiful and embrace it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my best friend to Galveston and see the water and go to the boardwalk. Then we would go downtown and bar hop. Then I would them to Lotus and enjoy the seafood. And of course we can leave out the shopping at the Galleria mall and even stop at the selfie museum. And we can explore some new places together. Enjoy the R&B music and hookah and a few drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my mom, my grandma and boyfriend for always keeping me lifted up a supporting my career and always pushing me and telling me I can do anything that i set my mind to. My mom watches every video. MY grandma took me back and forth to cosmetology school and my boyfriend for giving me ideas and supporting every single one of them.
