We had the good fortune of connecting with Delila Castro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Delila, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
The Bloom Podcast is a platform were we discuss everything self-development, wellness and evolution. Join host Delila as she interviews influential women in the Houston, TX area who are out here killing it, all while serving purpose. These women will navigate us through their journey, showcase their brand, businesses and discuss the titles they hold. Our mission is to be a safe space to have an open dialogue for each guest. The guest will take us through their experiences and perspective as to how they got to where they are today. If you’re a woman who enjoys seeing other women speak on their journey, you’re in the right place.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey as a content creator began in 2020 during the pandemic. What began as a self-development blog, then lead to me hosting women empowerment event in the local Houston area, to now creating The Bloom Podcast. I’m most proud in completing the first season and bringing in the new year with season two. Also, giving women a platform and safespace to have an open dialogue about their journey.

Has this process been easy? Not easy but worth it. I believe in my vision and know it will serve it’s purpose and it will touch the adequate people. I like to remind myself to live life taking leaps of faith working towards my passions rather than waiting to look back at life telling myself I could have and didn’t. Along the way I’ve learned that regardless of how broad my skill set is, building a team is necessary to grow.

Being that I’m self taught there’s been a lot of trial and error and breaking myself down to build myself back up. Along the way I’ve learned to pivot in moments that felt like obstacles, to enjoy the process because creator block is real but the process is enjoyable, to be a resource for God and to simply walk in my truth.

I would like the world to know that my brand/platform is intentional, purpose driven and a safe space for everyone.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was in town I’d take her to Post to overlook the Houston skyline, Buffalo Bayou Park for an mid-day jog, Higher Dimension Church for service on Sunday, Lucille’s for live music and brunch, First Watch for a healthy lunch, Agora to study or catch up on work, Chinatown to expose her to a different culture, the CityCenter for a walk and ice cream.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
