We had the good fortune of connecting with Demond Soulofaman Alverez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Demond, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My process was one I wanted to share my talents with the world. From there I always wanted to be free to move how I wanted to, and also be able to express my self as an artist, And entrepreneur. It was just finding a way to figure that out, and put everything that I do and offer under one umbrella so to speak. One other thing was that, I wanted to help people around the world as much as possible to inspire them. From my writing,‘to being a Keynote speaker,’ to what I offer spiritually it was all about putting it in one package. So to anyone out there, you don’t necessarily have to chose just one thing for your business model.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
More about my art well I am a writer and multi Genre’d author. I have been writing for a number of years now. I started writing poetry, then short stories then music. What sets me apart as an artist is how I am inspired. That is the beautiful part about it, cause I’m inspired by art it’s self and other creatives.
Growing up in New Orleans there was so much to be inspired by. The Jazz Music, the dancing, the artist, the culture the food. One could say just naturally the mystique of the city, there was always something supernatural about it. Though everything that I have created it’s the opportunities that come with the art it’s self. It’s the creating of something that stands the rest of time, so in that it becomes timeless.
I can’t say that this has been an easy road, although I have had my wins, I most definitely have had my losses. It’s the highs and lows of it all, the figuring it all out for the most part. Within this journey I’m still growing, I recently did my first movie, it was back ground work but I’m very proud of that.
History tells stories of artists always being excentrique, I want the world to know that no matter what you never stop the mission. Maybe a pause here and there, but there is no quitting bar one. Change things up if you have to it won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. I would also say that I had no road map. Basically it was all Devine me God, my ancestors and Angel guides.
My Mission is to share my talents around that world. Now of course that’s still manifesting, in so many beautiful ways. If it’s through writing my books, or doing speaking engagements, helping those on there spiritual journeys. I have many passions and wear many hats so to speak.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My city in New Orleans where I was born I would take them to the French Quarter. We would do all the touristy things, New Orleans is known for its amazing food, culture, and music and art. We would go to a second line during the day. We could go to a poetry event that nite. One thing is that the city is always alive. That weekend would could go to Congo Square listen to drum sessions, dance and have an amazing time.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout outs go to my parents, my brother and sister as well. Also my friend Derek and Dr Tristan. without them there would be no me. To God be the glory as always, to his son my Angel guides and my ancestors. I am Always grateful, to and for them just for always having my back.
