We had the good fortune of connecting with Deon White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deon, how do you think about risk?
A part of evolving requires taking risks. A lot of people have great Ideas And a lot of those people don’t take the “risk” the sacrifices to put those ideas into action. I was 16 when I attended my first party, I was there but I wasn’t if you know what I mean I was watching everyone walking in and calculating how much the promoters made that night off a H.s party. Next day i called that same venue asked how much to rent, priced a dj priced security sold a few shoes and saved up a few checks and thru my own party. I took the risk and became one of the top promoters in southeast Texas and years later using that same drive to take over the Dj world so when im not hosting my own events im Djing others.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
With me starting off in the entertainment world as a promoter, it was nothing for me to market myself once I started djing. That’s what separates me from other djs I know how to connect with people outside the nightlife and convince them to buy sections and turn up with me wherever I’m booked @ especially the nights I’m booked in Houston the 409 invades Houston be crazy!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Cru Houston is growing on me not to big and not to small perfect chill spot with good food and hookah
