We had the good fortune of connecting with Destiney Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Destiney, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I needed something new. I knew I wanted to help people and also be able to live my life with out having to solely work for someone else.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a very young reader who is new to the game and I fully recognize that. I have realized It allows me to connect and communicate with more people.

Newly starting their journey or already steps ahead. I graciously say that reading has come to me naturally. Especially with the aid and education the owner and daughters of a Moon Magic have given me. I learn something new and meet so many amazing people everyday. In that my most challenging hurdle has been pushing myself to be all of me on a broader scale. I am naturally a bit camera shy so its hard for me to use social media to benefit my work. So I am learning to set small goals for myself to post as much as I can and keep my timeline and page organized. I ultimately want to be genuine in my practice. I’m learning and growing and I want to share my process. After a reading with me I want you to feel rested, respected and ready to take on your life with hope and the knowledge that you are incredible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My first go to spot is la Boheme for their drag brunch on Sunday it is so much fun! I would then head to friendswood to see the NASA space center you get some of the coolest pictures there. On the way home grab a baked potato from the Stuffed Baked Potato Factory on MLK. Monday through Tuesday we would go make our way through downtown. I’m a huge fan of the theatre district and the train system is pretty cool i also love the aquarium. Wednesday we would go Hermann Park my favorite place in houston. Spend all morning in the conservatory and the evening hopefully catch a performance at miller. The Motown revue is a MUST! Thursday we would do breakfast at First Watch they have amazing potatoes. Catch a movie at the Edward’ theatre. Dinner would be at another favorite the Greasy Spoon a black owned spot that has the best catfish in town! Friday we would go to the science museum and get Kelly’s Country Cookin for lunch. That night we would go sing karaoke at Christians tailgate downtown and have great drinks and Saturday end the week with brunch at State Fair Kitchen and bar for the flight of mimosas of course and a walk through the galleria.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Aventura and Aiyonna the owner and the daughter at the metaphysical shop Moon Magic. The cutest shop on gessner was the first place I ever had a reading done by Aiyonna. She soon after taught me to read and Aventura is one of the most incredible healers and business owners I have ever met and together they have granted me a great opportunity that I will not take for granted.
