Meet Devonte Gaines | Creative & Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Devonte Gaines and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Devonte, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
When I was in elementary school, I wanted to be numerous things and always changed my career field. I knew I was creative but I always avoided it because I did not understand my individuality, I felt like someone else was going to do what I wanted to, say what I wanted to speak and create what I had already visualized. However, throughout those next couple of years, I started to realize my distinctive nature and abilities when I realized more of who I was and that what I wanted to do had not been done before. I also knew that there were plenty of others who felt the same way I did and went through the same complications that I did and still do. That’s what finally pushed me to drop everything else that my environment and culture wanted for me and I really began to take myself serious creatively. My pursuit to create and inspire with my artistic and creative abilities as a career became my main focus when I realized how much of the world and entertainment industry lack who I am as a person, who I am spiritually and my distinctive way of words and creations. Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
All of my art and creative endeavors have the similar common elements and theme behind their inspiration. When I blow up, my success from my art and creativity will represent and bring diversity, life, sympathy, cultural respect, love, consciousness, freedom and my concept of “antagonists” together through expression and arts. Getting to this point only took me a little over a year of being somewhat physical with who I am from avoiding my comfort zone. And that is apart of how I got here professionally. By avoiding my comfort zone, networking, making connections with different people in both different and similar fields, applying work ethic, manifesting and of course keeping things professional even when they aren’t professional towards me. And that goes a long way as well. Being a genuine, high energy spirit, creative and under the radar type of person, it makes what I do much more difficult. I can’t tell you that it’s easy but that’s why I’m always overcoming my challenges. I’ve learned how much growth and sharing your vision with the couple of right people can be just what you need to piece together the next step. I want the world to know that my brand and all other creative ideas are coming very soon! Know that I am working on about twenty different things everyday in multiple industries behind the scenes but I’m getting physical this year. It’s time to make my powermoves and show myself. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I just want to say one thing– The Breakfast Klub. Now go in there and say three magic, life changing words. “Chicken & Waffles.” Oh? You’re vegan? So was I…
