We had the good fortune of connecting with Diamond Hadley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diamond, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I believe that I was at a point in my life where I felt hindered by my career. I was torn between the time devoted there and the passion that I had for Interior Design. I knew that if I were to pour into my passion the same way I poured into someone else’s business, I would eventually benefit from it.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own an Interior Design Firm, Homes by Hadley, LLC. We provide interior design services to residential and commercial properties. This can range from decorating to renovating spaces based on the needs and wants of our clients. I believe the personalized experience sets us apart from most other practices. I have relationships that continue beyond the project and often turn into repeat business. I love getting to know the personalities of my clients and showing them how that translates into their homes/businesses. This is always a challenge to do. Running a business is not easy at all, but it is rewarding most times. I tend to set small goals that lead to big ones. Writing these down and revisiting them to see what I have accomplished has helped me out whenever I felt stagnated.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ok, so I would have to go to brunch. That’s a MUST DO out here. Houston is major for the brunch scene and I would probably choose Lucille’s. Happy Hour is at Moxie’s! Dinner would be KISS for their ambiance and DJ. At some point we would have to go to Grace’s and get their roasted chicken. Definitely one of my favorite meals in the entire city.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely! I would be remised if I did not give love and thanks for my husband, “Hadley.” He has always been there and worked hard beside me to build Homes by Hadley. I also have to shout out Ashley of The Element of Design for always being available to answer any questions about design and how to build a business in my beginning stages.
