We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Boswell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
Leaving my 9-5 and deciding to become an entrepreneur was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make. It was extremely scary! So many doubts ran through my head. The traditional 9-5 had security, stability, and great benefits but it wasn’t the type of life that I envisioned for myself. It didn’t bring me joy. I decided to put my happiness first after much prayer and support from my husband.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Early on, in my career realized there weren’t many people in the commercial world that looked like me. Historically, Commercial Real Estate has been a male dominated industry. Luckily, there are organizations for women like CREW & CREMM that helped me break through and create my own lane and brand.
My portfolio is true “resimmercial” (residential and commercial). On the commercial side most of my clients are minority and women owned businesses. I focus on response times and educating my clients throughout the process. My goal is to be their voice and find the ideal space for their business. I truly love helping people and I have heard many times “I don’t know what I would have done without your help!” This touches my heart and motivates me to help more people.
On the residential side I enjoy helping from the complete end to end process. This could be credit restoration, first time buyers, to established buyers/sellers. My approach is the same, responsiveness and educating my clients throughout the process.
I also own a portfolio of rental properties and I love sharing the benefits of investment properties and historical data on why real estate makes sense to my friends, family, and clients.
My brand is all about empowerment and partnering with awesome people. The residential team I’m on and the brokerage I work for are all like minded people with core principles around helping people and businesses.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest support has been my husband. He pushed me because honestly he had more faith in me than I had in myself. Without him I wouldn’t have the courage. When I initially ventured out on my own I held my real estate license with a company that just didn’t fit. I felt like I was just another number. It’s important to find a brokerage that you vibe with. When I was introduce to Apex Brokerage, I knew I found my home. My broker and mentor Farid has been a huge reason for my success. He is full of knowledge and constant motivator. I feel so blessed to have people like them in my corner.
