We had the good fortune of connecting with Dianna Wacasey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dianna, what matters most to you?
What value or principles matters most to you? Why?

The values that matter most to me are Honesty, Quality, and Empathy. I started my business out of frustration that modern cleaning products were not doing what they claimed to. Companies have a clever way of convincing you that their products are safe, and they get away with it because few people have time to research the lengthy ingredients on the back of the label. So many chemicals in our everyday cleaning solutions are harmful to us, and we would never think about it. My family has health issues that have been exacerbated by these products, so I wanted to create something that was 100% safe and 100% honest. My customers trust me, and I’m really proud to have earned that trust through complete transparency. If you have nothing to hide, then being transparent is not difficult.

The second value is quality. I wouldn’t feel comfortable taking money from my customers unless I knew that my product was going to deliver on this. I use Simply Magic myself, and I would never have taken it to market unless I truly believed in its effectiveness. For me, there’s nothing more frustrating than buying into the idea of a product, only to be disappointed when you get it home, and it just doesn’t cut the mustard. Customers come back to my product because of its quality, which is, again, something I’m really proud of.

Finally, the big one is empathy. You can’t create a product that genuinely helps people if you don’t care about them. My family is big on compassion, and we get a big joy knowing that our product is genuinely helping people! Selling anything is about adding value to someone else’s life, and we wouldn’t sleep at night if we didn’t think that what we’re putting out there is doing this.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets you apart from others?

I think there are two things here. One is that we’re a family-operated business. Everything that Simply Magic is today is thanks to my family. I created it for them, and we sell it together. Even my grandkids help me, and they enjoy doing it – I couldn’t be more proud of them for this!

Secondly, Simply Magic is a simple product. It does what it says on the label, and it doesn’t over-complicate anything. So many products are full of unnecessary ingredients. They’re watered down, and they’re chemically stronger than they need to be, which is damaging to your home in the long run. Our ingredients list is made of just four components. Its simplicity is what makes it unique because there aren’t many products out there these days that are like this. I think big companies are scared to sell something with such a small list of ingredients, but if those ingredients get the job done, why add anything else?

What are you most proud of or excited about?

As I said above, I’m proud of my family for working with me and of the values we’ve cultivated and maintained right from the start. I’m excited about sharing what I’ve learned with the world. I’ve researched the chemicals involved in everyday cleaning products, and I’m looking forward to sharing this with my customers. Consumers deserve to know what they’re buying into – it’s the least we owe them!

What do you want the world to know about the brand, story or you?

I want the world to know that there are companies out there who are looking out for them. Not every founder is just looking to make a quick buck. We care about making a difference in people’s lives. We want to build a community of people who are satisfied with our product, and are enlightened by our message: cleaning doesn’t need to be harmful to be effective.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh boy, there is so much to do and so many great places around. For a day outside, especially with the kiddos, you can’t beat Lake Conroe. It is beautiful. They have a perfect park area, swimming, fishing, kayaking, jet skiing, etc.. Definitely have to see a show at the majestic Crighton Theatre, built in 1934. For breakfast or brunch, I love 105 Cafe, it is a family owned local favorite. Honor Cafe is a “have to” on the list-Veteran-owned, military-themed, so unique and the food is outstanding.Make a point to visit on Friday night or Sunday for a special treat- “Doc” entertains with his God given talent on the piano. You will not be disappointed.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am forever grateful to so many loving, giving people. In the beginning, everyone who put in long (unpaid hrs) of hard work, ones who listened to and critiqued a gazillion ideas, were always there to encourage me. The ones who gave me a swift “kick in the pants” when I needed a boost and my amazing mentors who guided me professionally and have become dear, trusted friends. I have to add that I would not be where I am today if it were not for my loving and supportive husband, Mike. He’s been my greatest champion since day one.
