We had the good fortune of connecting with Dianna Wacasey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dianna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Let me start by telling you where I am today: I am on a mission to help others create a healthier, toxic-free home for their families. And I do it by sharing my research and understanding of the ingredients and contaminants in the household cleaning products used and offer a natural product solution to the problem. My story is a bit different from others. I didn’t wake up one day with the idea to start a business. My business evolved from me creating a solution to multiple problems my family faced; health issues (asthma, allergies, and eczema). Product ingredients, what are they, how to pronounce them, why don’t they work as promised, why do you need 20 different products to clean your home? All these questions were confusing and frustrating to me. Even when I began to purchase the so called “natural” cleaners, they all triggered my family’s health issues and the products did not work as promised. This is when I decided to go “back to my roots” and solve my own problem. After months and months of creating and trial and error, I had a formula that checked all the boxes of my requirements for a chemical free, one-step, total house, family, and eco-friendly all-purpose cleaner.
I used it to clean everything. When family, friends and neighbors began using it and loving it, I decided it was time to share it with the world. I was passionate, excited, and honored to be able to help families have a healthier, clean home.
Oh boy, was I naïve about starting a business. Less than a year after our launch, I received a 17-page letter / legal doc from a law firm representing a huge, well known, commercial brand. The letter was full of flowery, legalistic language asking me to step aside. My first thoughts were, how do they even know or care who I am and OH MY GOODNESS! I need to shut this business down! The next day, my thought was much different….. It was – These people are Bullies! Instead of fear, it empowered me. I grew up (so to speak) and became a businesswoman. It encouraged me to do more than just sell an amazingly safe product. I began researching commonly used cleaning product ingredients and their harmful effects, I surrounded myself with industry knowledgeable experts and truly began to help change family’s homes and lives by equipping them with factual information so that they can make educated purchasing decisions.
A few years have past since the beginning, we are reaching and helping more and more. I am writing informative blogs, informational help sheets, am active on social media (though that is a work in progress-do not judge) and podcasts are on my radar.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets us apart from others? My brand, Momo’s Secrets and my product, Simply Magic are unique in that we are not just about selling a product. We focus on giving, serving, improving the quality of lives, and providing a pure natural solution to an everyday problem, which is Simply Magic. Our 100% natural all-purpose, multi-surface household cleaner and deodorizer. It is formulated with only four pure ingredients. They are all listed on our label-we are transparent! Our cleaner is chemical, preservative, surfactant, and phthalate free.
I am proud of our Five Star reviews in both quality product performance as well as customer care.
We have had our struggles; all businesses do in one way or another. In our industry, it’s tough competing with the “big boys” who don’t always play fair but doing what is right and being honest with people is how I will ALWAYS run my company!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh my gosh, there are so many to chose from. Some of my favorite places, the Museum of Natural History, Houston Zoo and Nasa Space center. Pier 6 Seafood is a must for fresh seafood and the Traveler’s Table for feeling like you’re eating your way around the globe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be where I am today without the hard work, support and prayers of so many. They have put in long hours, encouraged me, pushed me, kicked me when I needed it and have been my biggest blessings and cheerleaders through the trials. I could not do this without them. First, I thank God for his grace, guidance, blessings and for giving me the gift to serve others! My husband, Mike, who is my rock, who never lets me doubt myself or have any doubt in what I’m doing. My Best Friend, Denise Carmichael, who has believed in my vision from the beginning and has contributed in gazillion ways. A host of amazing, wonderful people who have and still are supporting in numerous ways; there are too many to name them all. From the bottom of my heart, I Thank each and every one of you!!!
